Affiliate Disclosure
Transparency is fundamental to everything we do. Here's exactly how AIfocus earns revenue and why it never compromises our reviews.
How We Earn Revenue
AIfocus participates in affiliate programs operated by AI SaaS companies and affiliate networks. When you click on certain links on our site and sign up for a tool or service, we may receive a commission from the provider.
This comes at absolutely no extra cost to you. The subscription price, free trial terms, and service you receive are identical whether you sign up through our link or go directly to the provider's website. Our commission is paid by the SaaS company, not by you.
Our Editorial Independence
Affiliate commissions never influence our scores, rankings, or recommendations. Our editorial process is entirely separate from our monetization — here's what that means in practice:
Merit-based evaluation. We score every tool on Ease of Use, Academic Value, and Price-to-Value — dimensions that matter to researchers, students, and educators. Commission rates play no role.
Honest drawbacks. Every review includes genuine limitations and weaknesses alongside strengths. If a tool has problems, we say so — even if it's a high-commission partner.
No pay-for-placement. Our comparison tables and "Top Tools" rankings are ordered by editorial score, not by who pays the most. We feature tools because they're genuinely useful for academics.
Quality threshold. If a tool doesn't meet our standards for the academic community, it won't appear on our site — regardless of commission potential.
Non-affiliate coverage. We review and recommend tools even when no affiliate program exists. If a free or open-source tool is the best option, we'll tell you.
Affiliate Programs We Participate In
We may earn commissions through the following types of affiliate partnerships:
The specific programs we participate in may change over time as we add or remove tools from our coverage.
How Affiliate Links Work
You read one of our reviews or guides and click a link to visit an AI tool's website.
The link contains a tracking parameter that identifies AIfocus as the referral source.
If you sign up for the tool (free trial, paid plan, or other qualifying action), the provider records the referral.
We receive a small commission from the provider. You pay the same price you would have paid going directly.
FTC Compliance
In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose the following:
Some of the links on AIfocus are affiliate links. We are participants in various SaaS affiliate programs designed to provide a means for editorial sites to earn referral commissions by linking to AI tools and services. When you sign up for a product through our affiliate links, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Our opinions, scores, and recommendations are our own and are not influenced by affiliate partnerships.
Why This Model Works for Academics
Affiliate revenue allows us to keep AIfocus completely free to read — no paywalls, no premium tiers, no gated content. Every review, comparison table, and resource guide is available to every researcher, student, and educator. When you use our affiliate links, you directly support independent, unbiased coverage of AI tools for the academic community.
